'We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one!' 🐻🌿🥰
Today we had a lovely time at a very special Makaton signed story time' 🥰🐻.
This was with another brilliant local charity, Special Stars 🌟🌟.
Hermione did find it tricky at first. New people, new places...it can throw Hermione off kilter.
A special mention to her big sister, Rose, who helps and nurtures Hermione in new social situations. She is a huge part of helping Hermione to see that new experiences are okay.
Hermione often seeks out the quietest spot and retreats until she begins to relax. Someone or something will usually help her to relax into it.
This time it was the singing of Old Mcdonald and a big help from Rose. We often sing it to Hermione when out and about if things become too much for her. She peeped around the corner of where she was hiding and a little light popped up in her eyes.
We breathed. She relaxed. We keep trying new things, and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.
But we'll take today as a win 🏆 😉 🥰 xx
