Hermione loves building towers. With anything šš¤·āāļø.
We started Saturday morning building a little tower of pants and socks; Hermione carefully using her forefinger and thumb to pinch each item one at a time. From a physio perspective, she was demonstrating great fine motor skills! šš
She has started exclaiming with an 'oo-ooo' if she finds something interesting and exciting, and she pouts her lips as she says it. It's extremely cute š„°.
The pant and sock tower got the 'oo-ooo' treatment - in fact, each item did! It was like each one was a new artefact, never before discovered. It's a good job we weren't in a rush š.
When the tower toppled and fell over, she furrowed her brow at us, and said, 'oo nooo!' with added drama, and we also said, 'oh no!'
She hummed and reached for our hands, to indicate she wanted us to repair the tower of undergarments, and proceed with adding more.
She was happy when it was repaired and she could continue adding to it with an 'oo-ooo!'
When that was done, she found some gloves, and attempted to put them on her hands. We helped her to put them on and she clapped in delight. It was lovely to realise that she was revising what she'd learnt yesterday about what we wear in cold weather! āļø
When Hermione demonstrates that she's processing information she's learnt, or doing activities she enjoys, we just stop and watch her. I do use the word 'wonder' a lot š but we really do stand back and just wonder at the processes going on.
And with the added layer of cuteness, watching Hermione is so much better than rushing out of the door or Saturday morning TV š.
Our Saturday mornings are made for towers... made of anything you like šš¤·āāļø
